Thanks for the tip Gary! I'm really picky about stuff matching though, so It has to go Farmall red to match the crane. lol.

After struggling with the stripped passenger side radiator/body mount bolt, the radiator support is finally off. I have my Hydraulic Ram, I have access to pull the engine through the front, and I also have everything but the engine and trans mount off. All that needs to be done now is to get one of my buddies over here, line up the crane, put tension on the engine and trans, unbolt the trans mount, and then unbolt the engine mounts, and we'll be ready to go.

Ouch! I read it and now have a headache, and it may have been caused by virtual paint fumes. So, who do we believe? Which product works?

I've used POR 15 on several things and they all look good, but none have been subsequently subjected to a harsh environment. However, I did paint some parts I later wanted to powder coat and discovered that removing POR in a media blast cabinet is an excruciating task. It took forever 'cause that stuff STUCK.

Anyone have experiences?

I also checked out the rust damage on my radiator support. The rust is extremely minor, and is gonna be so easy to fix, it's not even funny. The bigger problem is the smaller opening for the 6 cylinder radiator.

That's cheating! Is that for safety or? I pulled mine by myself, but I will agree that having a buddy there would make it easier.

As said, the hardest part was getting the rear up so the studs came clear, so if you don't take the mount off then having someone lift the rear a bit may help a lot.

100% safety. I will never do anything this extensive on a vehicle without someone else present.

Those look real sharp! I've always been a fan of the BFG a/t's as well, aesthetically speaking anyway.

I put a new gasket on the push rod cover today. It should have been a quickie but it rained off and on all day.

I have the bed repaired and ready to paint but the weather man says we will have rain every day for the next week. I never did a driveway paint job before and I'm waiting for at least two rain free days.

Well, moved the engine removal date to today. Buddy came over and we pulled the 300/C6 out. Went as smooth as butter.

Front grille, headlight bezels, upper and lower moldings removed.

Radiator Support removed:

300 and C6 on temporary stands until I separate them and put them in the shop or wherever.

Waiting for a 400.

Removed the I6 motor mount perches.

Got quite a bit of lift. Didn't get near as much negative camber as I thought I would. Guess the springs are pretty weak. I'd like to eventually have the truck sit this high so I've measured the height at a few different spots and will go back to them later when I'm working on the suspension.

Thanks Gary!

I already have a guy interested in the entire 300 for parts, so it shouldn't be long at all. I have a line on one from a 79 F250 which will work out great because my truck was built in 1979, so the numbers won't be too far off. I will need to make sure it's in good shape though and hasn't been rebuilt yet. I don't really want to go through what you and Chris did with your engines.lol.

lol. Chris, if you read this, a 400 uses the big block bell-housing correct? Need to know to see if I should let my C6 go.

Yes.

Alright thanks Chris! Gonna put the SB C6 up for sale then. Or maybe trade for a big block C6 if someone has one.

I think my brother has one in his garage, it's been there on the floor for about 20 years, come get it.
