Truckin’ Fast Wednesday: 427 Stroker Ranger Destroys the Strip

By -

This week’s Truckin’ Fast Wednesday video features an early Ford Ranger blasting down the quarter mile, but it isn’t just any Ford Ranger. Unlike the low-performance pickups from the early 1980s, this little Ranger is powered by a 427 cubic inch stroker motor.

The combination of the small, lightweight Ford Ranger and that massive V8 adds up to one lightning-quick pickup, so while the two-tone primered Ranger doesn’t look like a million bucks – it runs like a million bucks.

This video by, MAMH121890NWATNA, shows a grey Ford Ranger sitting at the starting line, and although it has a hood with a raised cowl and wide racing tires, it is hard to tell whether this little truck is going to be worth the watch. When the green light drops, all doubt is removed, as this Ranger blasts away from the line and sprints down the track in just 10.269 seconds with a trap speed of 130 mph!
