Next-Generation Ford Super Duty Will Debut September 27!!!
Ford posted to social media a short teaser video that promises the next-generation Ford Super Duty will be revealed on September 27.
September 2022 is shaping up to be quite the reveal month for Ford. We just saw the debut of the all-new 2024 Ford Mustang earlier this week. And that included a well-kept secret performance model called the Dark Horse. And now the company confirms that the next-generation Ford Super Duty will be revealed on September 27. It is unlikely this reveal will also include a racetrack focused truck, but at this point we would not put anything past Ford.
On the Ford Trucks Facebook page today an 11-second teaser clip announced the reveal date. Other than the date this new clip does not offer us much. There is a quick glimpse of a tire, a portion of the grille and one headlight. That is hardly enough to draw many conclusions about how the truck will look. Although we have already seen a number of spy photos that give us a better sense of what to expect. The good news is that in less than two weeks our questions will be answered.
Engines
As we reported previously, we expect a 6.8L V8 to be offered in the next-generation Ford Super Duty. We expect it to be offered along with the 7.3L Godzilla engine and to possibly replace the older 6.2L V8. Beyond that we don’t know too much yet. Will Ford offer an all-electric Super Duty? Probably someday but we doubt that day will be September 27. But some sort of hybrid power plant would not be out of the question.
Interior
We expect significant upgrades to the interior. We just saw the new Mustang revealed with large, configurable screens on the dash. So, we would expect something similar in the Super Duty. Or at least a design that more closely aligns with what we have in the current-generation F-150. This new interior will also likely come packed with new technology features that will make this the most advanced Super Duty ever.
Configurations
The great thing about the Super Duty is that it is so configurable. We expect more of the same for the newest generation. There will not only be several trim levels and engine options, but also a bevy of cab configurations and box lengths. As usual there will be a Super Duty for every type of buyer and every type of job. We just have to sit tight a little bit longer before we know all the details. Mark your calendars now. Stay tuned to these pages as we will continue to keep you updated and bring you all the details the moment they become available.
