Ford F-150’s Bed Becomes a Bed & Breakfast in New Jersey
Clever couple finds a way to keep things fun and enjoy their favorite local restaurant by turning their truck into a private dining patio.
Here at Ford Truck Enthusiasts we’re still trying to get used to this whole “new normal” scenario — you know, this stay-at-home situation that we’re all enduring as best we can. While we hope things return to being more comfortable soon, in the meantime we all have to relearn and rethink how to do things differently than we did before January when most of us likely never even owned a bandana or gloves. So, all things considered, we’re always happy to share uplifting stories like this one about a New Jersey couple who devised a great way to continue to enjoy hot meals from their favorite neighborhood restaurant despite the fact that customers are no longer allowed to dine in.
This random story is an unusual albeit fun news item recently covered in The New York Post and includes a clip of the Cape May couple’s creative way to keep things fun while also adhering to requested social distancing protocol.
Although the video does not provide much backstory, the couple, Nate Douglass and Patty Behrens have apparently found a way to turn their Ford F-350 truck into a virtual dining room where they can take in the scene while enjoying the comfortable spring weather.
“Talk about dining al fresco,” says Virginia Murray, as she films the couple and compliments them on their daring dining idea. Murray mentions that this is the second time she has spotted the couple dining curbside outside the Oyster Bay restaurant.
This certainly is a much more interesting way to enjoy dinner and offers a chance to get outside and under the stars. And the roomie bed and useful steps create a space that does give the ambiance of a private outdoor patio. Plus, if Douglass and Behrens get tired of the scene, they can just hop in the truck and head on over to a new neighborhood or even a new city.
