Auto Influencer Gives Early Insight into 2020 F-350 Platinum

YouTube channel WorkPlayTV  loves the power and torque of the 2020 Ford F-350 as well as the incredibly smooth ride.

Picking up a new truck is an exciting day. It’s even better when you’ve been waiting months for a truck you ordered, as is the case with the buyer of this 2020 Ford F-350 with 475 horsepower and 1050 lb/ft of torque.  “The day is finally here,” says YouTuber Tyson Broome of the WorkPlayTV channel in Nova Scotia, Canada. “I am going to pick up the new 2020 F-350 Platinum, 6.7 power train of course. I ordered this thing in September and we’re just getting it now.” Once at the MacPhee Ford dealer in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia he does a quick run down of the visual differences between the outgoing 2019 and the 2020 he’s taking delivery of. “You can definitely notice a difference in the air dams. First thing I notice is the ’19 is noticeably higher than what the 2020 is.”

Broome is very impressed with the way the F-350 drives. “I can tell you right away that the power gain is noticeable,” he says. “The torque is crazy. I mean these trucks were effortless before as far as power goes but this is even more so. I’m having a little bit of a hard time holding this thing back right now.” The smooth shifting 10-speed automatic transmission that the one-ton truck is equipped with works well with the motor. “The transmission shifts very, very smoothly. You don’t even notice the shifts.” Around town he notes that the transmission skips gears, especially at lower speeds. “It seems to skip gears in the lower gears, like one through five it usually only hits two gears. So don’t think you’re going to be driving through town feeling every shift, one through ten,” says Broome.

The shows host is equally impressed with the general comfort offered by the new F-350. “This suspension is way smoother than my 2019 350,” he says. “It is quite soft.” He also detects some alterations to the adaptive steering that the truck is equipped with. “They definitely made some adjustments to the adaptive steering. It’s definitely a little bit easier just going through town. It’s extremely easy to turn the wheel at low speeds and then at high speeds it’s normal steering.”

The truck’s seats are also surprisingly comfortable. “The seats are also way softer than the Lariat Ultimate,” he notes. “There’s a lot more padding in these seats. These seats are like sitting on clouds.” The Ford engineers did their homework when it came to keeping the cabin of the big truck as quiet as possible. “It’s very, very quiet in here,” Broome says. “Honestly you can’t hear anything. You can’t hear the engine at all, which almost is a bit of a shame considering how much power that thing has.” Probably the most notable thing about the new F-350 is the amount of power the truck has. “Man, does it ever just take off. This thing is a rocket.” Broome also notes that at 50-mph the tires break loose with only half throttle. Impressive stuff. While Broome admits the truck is going to be put to work, he’s also going to be upgrading it in a few key areas. We’re equally as excited to see the upcoming transformation of the F-350.
