New F-150 Owner Seeks Input on Leveling Options
F-150 rear end is typically a little higher in stock form, but simple upgrades will flatten the stance.
If you own a newer Ford F-150, you have likely noticed that the back end sit a little higher than the front end. This is especially true of four-wheel-drive trucks that have a taller ride height. This nose-down stance is normal, but some owners don’t like the “raked” look. Some F-150 owners want the truck to rest with a level front-to-rear stance, which can be achieved with simple suspension upgrades.
The only “problem” when leveling a newer F-150 is that there are many different brands on the market, many of which offer different results. That leads some owners to question which leveling kit is right for them, and that is the dilemma facing Ford Truck Enthusiasts forum member “Derek4343”. He recently posted in the 2015+ F150 section, asking other owners about their experience with leveling and with this being such a popular topic, there has been plenty of input provided.
F-150 Leveling Question
When the OP posted his question to the forum, he got right to the point.
So what is everyone using on there 2017 -2019 trucks to level them?
The first person to respond was “IndyDog”.
2″ AutoSpring plus an additional inch in the back.
The next was “JohnDay”.
Rancho Quicklift coilovers, 2.5″, and a Daystar 2″ block in the rear with Fox 2.0 shocks.
While “PBorgia” went with a slightly smaller option than the others.
Waiting on Aututospring 1.5″. Just want a little bit of rake.
“Brian6674” went into far more detail than the others, explaining what kit he picked, why he picked that kit and why he hasn’t installed it yet.
I bought the 2″ RC level kit for my 2020 F150, 4X4 Reg. Cab Short bed, 2.7. I have the kit but am holding off until shops open up so I can take it right in for a front end alignment. I don’t off road so the composite part should be just fine for me. Also I am in Michigan. So one less thing to corrode or rust. Most of the reason I went with this RC kit. I am not as much in a hurry now. I bought a wheel set off of a 2018 Raptor, 315/70/17. They only had 150 miles on them. They fit the truck with no rub in the front! Things are close. But no rub. The reg. cabs short beds seem not to have crash bars behind the front bumper. There are still behind the front tire. So the level kit now will be just for looks.
Visual Help
The next member to reply was “Jafo56”, who provided the following details.
Ready lift 2.25″…….. I also did a 3″ block in the back (removing the factory block)….. I kinda like the raked look……plus I tow a car trailer so it keeps the truck from squatting.
This member also shared the picture above of the silver and black F-150 shown at the top of this piece. As you can see, it sits a little higher than stock with just a touch of rake. The front end is barely lower than the rear, but if you look at the gap between the sheet metal and the tire, there is a bit more room out back. However, this four-wheel-drive Ford doesn’t have as much slope front rear-to-front.
