To increase the reliability of the duraspark unit, when I wire it into a new system I follow this diagram. I make one substitution, I cut out the green-black wire, run fresh 12v over from the starter solenoid and install a ballast resistor to cut the power to the coil down to 6.5 volts. This will result in a cooler running duraspark that should last forever.
