Upfitter Switches - A Little Needed !!

I am wondering if anybody knows how to make the Upfitter switches hot while the ign. is off.

Currently they work only when the ign. is turned to the on position.

Thanks in advance.

Look at page 3 here https://www.fleet.ford.com/truckbbas/non-html/Q117.pdf (you may have to remove a duplicate http for the link to work) Locate upfitter relay #C258 Remove this relay. Fabricate a jumper wire and jump pins 30 to 87 and that should do it. If you look at the bottom of the relay the pins should be numbered. Let me know if you need more help.

Just trim off everything before the www and the link should work fine.

For anyone reading this thread, watch out for the scam artist on ebay (69bboamx.) He's selling the set up minus the tray for $129.99 + $12 s+h. I just paid less than $60 brand new including the tray and shipping...

Glad it worked out, just make sure that you keep all the switch's off, even the unused as they will drain the battery when the truck is off.

What exactly is the scam? Does the guy bait and switch or not deliver product? The truly stupid ones are those who would buy something uneducated as to actual cost or value that can be had.

Hootbro,

Didn't you know that's what e-bay is all about, people making uneducated decisions and paying 4 times the actual value for something.

Ebay is actually a great place if you know the true value of what you are looking for. i have bought many items for 50% or more under market value and saved much $$$. I also have also sold and encountered bidding wars for someone pay 3-4 times above market but that is why it is called a "auction". Some other posters seems to loose sight of that.

I'm the last guy you have to preach to about socialism etc. Believe me... I agree with most of what you said, but he is still a dishonest salesman no matter how you cut it. Am I the "price police?" Of course not, but a friendly warning to fellow FTE members I thought was more than warranted. A little edumacation for the folks that might be unsuspecting.
A scenario for you to consider. And not unreal. It happens in Florida every day. Across the country too, but Florida more than anywhere else. An old lady gets towed to a shop because her car wouldn't start. The mechanic charges her $250 for a starter he is paying $35 for at the Autozone where she can buy it for $50 because she doesn't get a mechanics discount. He charges her 10 hrs labor for a job that flat rate mechanics get 2 hrs for. At $65/hr that's $650 for the labor and $250 for the part. Now we're at what? $900 for a starter replacement not including the $200 tow. Is he a thief or a capitalist? The old lady was a widow and her children who watched out for her passed on long ago. She knows nothing about mechanic work. Is she just a fool? I think not.

Something else to consider. I talked to my local dealer just yesterday and tried to order the switches and wiring harness. The switches were $39 and change and the wiring harness $18 and change. Before we completed the transaction the parts guy said hold on, Ford changed the price on the harness. The new price was 80 some dollars and the switches still $39. This makes the kit $120.00+ before shipping. Went to powerstroke and got them for $65 with shipping. He had about 20 kits left.

You win dude! The guy on ebay is obviously a thief cheating little old ladies out of precious $$ on upfitter switches for their F-250's.

Lets find him and drag him by a trailer hitch. Then give him a summary court martial and shoot him at dawn by firing squad. Happy?
