I have a 2001 2 DOOR Explorer and I have no codes anywhere you guys have said. To me the acuator for the door locks is under the dash behind the glove box. Any other ideas?

There is a module in the rear access panel over the wheelwell that has the 5 digit factory code on it in large bold type. You may have to pry out the panelling to see it.

Im not sure which models apply, but I know some sport track models have the module behind the passenger air bag. You have to remove the airbag and remove the module to read the code. That is for the models with RAP module. It cant be read by NGS so its the tough road to retrieve it on those models. Ill see if I can find the location for your 2001. A production date may be helpful because they had several mid production changes around 2002.

For anyone with a '02, this write-up (with photos) should help. Sorry, not sure on other years/models.
