South Bend Clutch Install - Pedal Spring Removal?

The reason to remove is if you Experience pedal inversion and it annoys you. At high rpm the pedal can stay in the floor with the spring installed. If you have your foot on the clutch almost to the floor and get the Engine to redline you will Feel the pedal invers und want to stay on the floor until you let off the accel. This same thing happens at full rpm shifts.

I removed mine as it would stick to the floor. Basically what is happening is Southbend uses a diaphragm design on their clutches that requires less force to actuate, resulting in a softer pedal feel. This means there isn't as much force pushing back against the pedal, not allowing it to overcome the spring's tension (at full press, the helper spring is past its longest point. Resulting in a pull to the floor). Happens wether at high RPM or idle as it is the helper spring holding the pedal in place.
