Chevy Colorado vs. Ford Ranger

I agree AG4.0, your statements are right on. If i were Chevy I dont think i would reduce the towing capacity that much, 5,000lbs would be more like it, although I can live with 4,000lbs. I will admit that things like travel trailers are getting lighter these days, but everything else isnt.

Both Fords 4.0 OHC and Dodge's 3.7 OHC is now, IMHO, probably obsolete. Time will tell after a few magazine road tests, and my own road test, and hear what owners think. If you go by what is on paper, sure looks like Ford and Dodge need to go back to the drawing board. And not just to build inline 4s, 5s, and 6s. This truck truly is heating up the small/mid-size truck market for the first time since 82/83 when they were introduced; I remember there were waiting lists for Chevy S-10s back then! I wish Chevy the best with this ambitious project- time will tell if they are successful. J.D., KCK
