I think it is pushing the limits of the truck. I also think it will do the work, just do it very slowly. With a load leveling hitch, at least D rated tires filled to 65 psi, and trailer brakes in good working condition, it will do it. I bet it would do it for a long time with no problems either. Expect 8-10 mpg though.
I just prefer the turbo diesel trucks for hauling. It is a night and day difference. Lots more power, better suspension and frame, better fuel economy by 5-10 mpg.
