The IDI and Power Stroke are two different engines, nothing is the same except the bellhousing pattern. The IDI is purely mechanical while the Power Stroke needs a computer to run.
Don`t know what the Stroke takes but the IDI takes 10qts. of oil. The 16qts you quote is, I would think, for the E4OD trans that both used.
