Did some additional self diagnosis last night... and as suspected it free-wheeled in 2nd when I pulled it down... so I suspected mechanical damage in the trans. Brought it to the dealership this morning, and they did the electronic diag and found everything was ok electrically with it... so it was mechanical. When the tech dropped the pan, there were little metal bits scattered all over. So... new trans it is. The cost for the reman'd trans is actually right on par for what I was looking at... just under $2100 including a new torque converter. That was for a 3yr/100K warranty. The real pain is the labor. The are killing me for just over $1300. I asked what book time was... and it's listing at just over 10hours. Damn this sucks
