I think I would bolt it to a lot more than the bumper, well in less you don't like your bumper, and get yourself a ****** block to go with it. It will have a lot more pulling power with it. If you really get stuck I mean deep or in a place where you may have to drag your truck out it will really help there as a 8000# is really a light winch for one of these trucks.
