I have a lifter like tapping and loss of power

Out of curiosity, is there any way you can record this chatter type noise and post it online? If it's the diesel chatter noise, don't worry about it because it will eventually go away. It's been 1500 miles since my last oil change and the diesel chatter noise has disappeared from my Lightning during idle. Some Lightnings lose the chatter in 300-600 miles, while other take time, but in every case except for one, the noise went away. The diesel chatter noise is considered a harmless noise and I wouldn't worry about it, unless it really did it loud. The LS1 and LS6 as well as lots of porshe engines make really wierd noises as well. If you really feel concerned about the noise, call up the manager of the service department at John Nolan Ford and he will explain to you exactly why many 5.4's seem to have that noise. He got too technical for me in his explanation and I kinda stopped paying attention when he was explaining it to me.
