Well, since 5.4ls are OHC (no lifters), I would suspect this: bad coil pac (cracked and "snapping" sound from spark leak?); bearing in pulley on supercharger snout?...whatever it is, it isn't "normal" and your dealer is either clueless or lazy. Find another one who gives a ##### about his customers.
