You would probably be better off by re-gearing the truck, or skipping the SHO and putting in a 302. I would re-gear first and see if you like it a lot more. My '08 Ranger has 4.10 gears on the stock tires, and I get around without a problem, granted I also know its not a V8 F150 too...
