The EFI engine has an electric fuel pump and you'll need to pick up an electric fuel pump for a carb, otherwise you'd have to remove the timing cover and replace it with one that has a mechanical fuel pump mounting boss on it, and most likely you'd need to install a fuel pump eccentric on the cam. Much easier to just leave it alone and run an electric.
