The intake manifold has a little tag looking thing that is cast into it that looks like it was screwed on, is far as we can tell it is 0022 or 0D22. According to the code keys this is probably 0D22 for April 22nd 1970, since there is no code key for a 0 as the second number for any of the months. As for the firing order is says on top of the manifold: FIRING ORDER 1 5 4 2 6 3 7 8.

There is also another number right under the 0D22, C8AE - 9425 which from what I can tell is 1968, Galaxie, Engine Engineering Dept. No revisions.

And now my son calls me up and tells me that there are the Letters C8AE-H in between the spark plugs. According to the info on the web that might mean that this is a 427?!?!?

There are a couple of other numbers or letters that we cannot find reference to. Right Above the 0D22 there is the number 17 and then on the sides of the block there are the letters DIF ? Can't seem to find what these mean.
