Surely a person could set up some kind of system where the raw oil went into an upper tank, and it gravity fed to a lower tank through a filter? Reason I'm asking, is a setup like that would work well for someone who was going on a very long road trip.

The issue with onboard procesing is time. The longer the WVO sits the more water drops out. Driving would make it harder to remove any water.
The only good thing is you have a good source of heat.
