1978 Grumman Stepvan

Hello,

I'm new to this and I'm hoping for a little direction on the engine of this Grumman truck I'm in the process of purchasing.

1978 -10 FT GRUMMAN ALUMINUN STEPVAN, WITH CURB SIDE SERVING WINDOW,INSIDE FLUORESCENT LIGHTS, FORD V/8 ENGINE, AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION,SINGLE REAR WHEELS,TRAILER HITCH

The truck runs but has carborator issues, there is a pin missing that keeps the connector from opening the throttle plate so you sometimes have to manually play with it to let air in. Its an original Ford engine and once it gets started it runs pretty well. Is this something that could be fixed easily or should i consider an engine rebuild
