The 300 has a different type of fan clutch that threads onto the center of the water pump. To remove/intsall it, you need the special wrench set. One is a huge open end wrench that goes around all 4 of the pulley bolts, and the other removes the clutch from the water pump.
When I did mine, I got a loaner from Auto Zone and it worked fine. IIRC, they are left hand threads.
