Attached is a parts explosion of your steering. The drag link (or center link) is labelled #4. You can turn the adjustment sleeve (#3) on the drag link to adjust the steering wheel position without having any effect on the alignment otherwise.

If you get under it and examine it, you'll see and it'll make sense.
