289 exhaust manifold

I had noticed a picture on one of the threads that showed a standard exhaust manifold on the driver's side of a 460 Lincoln a guy was putting in his '66. The manifold appeared to be somewhat wedge shaped from the front of the engine to the back, with the dump end of the exhaust being part of the larger part of the wedge. If I have made the mental picture clear enough, can any of you tell me if there is such a manifold that would fit a 289? As I have a 289 in my '63, I think I might have some clearance problems with a power steering box I am trying to adapt and this might be a cure. Otherwise I may have to go to a set of headers - money I really don't want to spend. Thanks, Jim:)

Try a manifold off any mustang or fairlane that had a 289,302. I have a 302 in my 61 with a volare clip and the stock manifolds from the 84 donor stang. Plenty of room. Good luck, Rich:)

take a look at the hi-po 289 cast iron manifolds. they are simular to what you are discribing. Check with any good mustang parts house.

Rich,
Thanks for the help. What do the manifolds from the '84 look like?
Eric,
Thank you, too, for your input. What years carry these hi-pro exhausts? Thanks again to all.:)
