What rear gear ratio was in 1979 ford f150

I own a 1979 ford f150 with 460 and a automatic trans, was wondering what gear ratios came stock in these.

The vin # is F15JRFE6763, is there some where else on the body that is marked for the gears.

yep should be a warranty plate on the drivers door below the latch with the option codes it is riveted on

Well the plates there, but it shows tire size and pressure and vin#, I see at the bottom it says vehicle color, mldg, etc an gear there but its all blank. anywhere else, like under the hood. I checked the glove box, but nothing. I would just like to know, so I have a idea of what size tires I can put on it, its running about 10mph faster then the speedometer right now. Guess I can go by the plate if all else fails.

sounds like you are talking about the tag on the door frame below the striker bolt,it is kinda like a sticker, check on the door itself there should be a metal tag just below the latch that is riveted on unless someone has removed it or the door has been changed and the tag was not switched over to the new door

There should be a tag on the rearend unless its been removed which is common in my experiences
