Wheel lug nut torque?

I just had new tires put on my 2004 F-250 and on the bill I had to sign that I would retorque the lug nuts after 30 miles. The bill states that they torque to 115 foot pounds. In my Haynes manual for the Ford Super Duty it recommends 155 foot pounds torque for 2003 and newer Super Dutys. What is the correct torque number? The mechanic that installed my wheels says 140 foot pounds max. and 115 to 120 foot pounds that they use.I have been using the 155 FP number when I rotate the tires once a year, never had any trouble.

165 foot lbs will do it.

Wow, you better tell that mechanic to take a second and look it up on the tire charts if he sells lots of tires for superduties. 155-165 ft lbs is the correct #.

Thanks guys for the correct touque number. It looks like I will go back to the 155 foot pound torque setting for my wheels. I suspected that he was wrong. This is a great forum.
