Speed Sensor Location on 2003 Expedition
 

I am doing a self install of a Pioneer AVIC F900BT on a 2003 Expedition and need help finding the Speed sensor wire. Any help would be appreciated. Also, is there any location closer to hook up the reverse signal without going all the way to the taillight?

If you know the color of the wire you could find the speed sensor wire at the cruise control module under the hood.

On the 03 Expedition, the VSS signal is already present on the GRAY/BLACK wire, either pin 9 or pin 14, in the 20 pin head unit connector.

There was a running production change that changed the pin assignment during the model year.

Sorry for not being so technical, but when you refer to the head unit, you are talking about the wire assembly that is already going into the back of the radio? Thanks again.
