Swapped Beds

I swapped a bed from a 94 F-150 I bought for $750 to my 97 F-250. I still need to shim up the cab a bit for perfect alignment, but I'm happy!

I already sold the 94 donor truck for the same I bought it for. Free bed and toolbox. Gotta love it!

The truck has been missing a little every now and then lately. Pulled off the distributor cap and it was a mess. Got the new parts and on the way home, everytime I came to a stop, I got a loud clunk under my feet and when I would take off, I would get another clunk in the same spot. I'm assuming (hoping) it's the bushings in the eyes of the spring on that side.

Drove my 66 home today. That thing has a ton of power. I still gotta figure out why it takes so long to find the next gear. Cant put any real power thru it cause it will almost free wheel.(kinda feels like it is nuetral.

Oh God, why did you have to go THERE?! I darn near died the first time I opened my rear axle, thankfully I only have less than 10k miles on the oil in there now so tomorrow when I go to weld up the differential it should not stink up the garage...

Well i finally got to install the power window kit and switches i got hold of today!!
Only issue we had was getting the fuse box out to wire power into and the fact that it was 42c degrees today!
Here are a few pics of the setup!

Cover cap is only 4-5mm thick, so will be way better on the side of my leg than the armstrong winder!!!:-X04

Wish it was 42C here, I used to do construction work in such heat and I grew to like it a lot. Instead an hour or so ago I was out there plowing foot and a half of snow with our just-resurrected W350 Dodge monstrosity - global warming they say, maybe in your neck of the woods, but surely not 'round here.

How well are these power window setups made? Do they seem rather sturdy to you, or are they running on borrowed time from the factory? Is there a little chain inside those sleeves that drives the factory cranks, or is it some sort of cable arrangement?

I re-calibrated the speedo in my '96 F350 today using the article by Benjamin Ratterree, I have 315/75-16 tires on it and reset the conversion constant to 900 from the stock 980. Borrowed a GPS that shows speed, it showed I was dead on from 10 to 50 and showing just a little high by 65. Now I just want to get a new instrument cluster that has a tach.

Well, the system is made by Spal in Italy and seems like a quality bit of kit!
My brother inlaw has been running this same window kit in his truck for the past 8 years and only recently has the drivers window mechanism failed.
The gear drive from motor to chain, cable or whatever is in there stripped its gears!
With the amount he uses the window when needing a smoke etc, it had a good run!
