Motorcraft 2-bbl Carburetor on 351M

I've got a 1977 Ford F-250 with the 351M. My problem is that I replaced the carburetor a while back and have never been able to get the carb to get up on the fast idle cam. I was wondering if anyone could give some tips for this adjustment.

Also, thinking the spring in the auto choke is weak, possibly contributing to the above problem, I purchased an electric choke kit. However, my wife assisted me by inadvertently disposing of the installation instructions before I had the chance to install it. Has anyone used one of these and are they worth the time to install?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Jason

That adjustment is tricky. I recently found a link to an EXCELLENT article on rebuilding the Motorcraft 2150 carb. The article is geared towards the Jeep community (Jeep used the 2150 for many years), but the carbs are identical. It tells you exactly how to do all of the adjustments. This article helped me out alot. I bookmarked it on my computer. It's just that good. Give it a look.
