the filter minder said to push the reset button?? Why did you reset it? How full was it?

the winemaker 10-20-2007 06:34 PM

doubledee..thanks for reply...yes on end of filter minder to reset push so i did..it was about in same spot with the old filter...but since i plan on a long trip thought i would change filter....I kept old filter

mine always showed a little bit of yellow. How many miles did you use the filter, because mine has ~60000 MILES and never moved. Maybe the filter minder is faulty.

depends where you drive farmboy, lots of gravel roads would probably go through filters quicker of course, where as pavement will take a lot longer to go through one

f250farmboy...old filter did not have that many miles on it (2yrs and 34000kms..21000miles) but as i say held on to old filter...minfer shows a start of yellow the winemaker

Filter minder will move slowly until it gets fairly close to being full. The OEM Dondaldson Powercore can hold 3+ lbs of dirt and others have reported going 80K miles before changine.

any idea on a part number for this?

Somebody who knows please correct me if need be, but I changed mine at 60,000 and I didn't need to. The instrument panel has an icon that will tell you when, and the filter minder should reflect that also. So changing it early is just kind of throwing away good money. I drive on lots of dirt roads, so I just figured it was due, the filter needed changing a lot more on my 7.3. This Donaldson filter is great.
