the lights crack me up

heres an idea....

pull off the big pully on the axle and put a smaller one on it (like the size on the front) you see where im going here i hope...then you can...well...HAUL SOME FRIGGING TRUCK NUTZ...oh yeah, need smaller belt too.

thats what i did on my 13hp B&S lawnmower when i was about 14, lol.

Jebadiah04 09-25-2006 09:31 PM

NOTE***

front wheel alignment and a seprate brake pedal...really helps...ask me how i know, oh yeah...take the blade assembly of too....

I'm about to fire up an old Murray with a new look - it has NO DECK and an 18 horse Briggs twin.

And I swore I would weld me up a pair of expansion pipes going into a two and a quarter inch down-turned side pipe on each side (with an "H" pipe maybe).

I'm seriously considering doctoring the gas with a little model airplane fuel to see what it does on NITROMETHANE!

It just might blow all to SKIPPY, but there is another'n like it being donated by folks in Byhalia - I guess because they love to watch a CRAZY man workin'....

Hey Drew is that a 400 or a 450?

chrono4 09-26-2006 08:32 PM

450, sucks cause I dont have anywhere to ride it though

Greywolf 09-26-2006 09:23 PM

You bad - but a tractor ain't supposed to go there at all!

- I'll see you back when I build a four wheeler.

BTW: Watch the TACO LOAD, in some brackets it is considered cheating...

BTDW: I'm fixin' to BOIL ME some tires...

chrono4 09-26-2006 09:26 PM

ive got pics of the craftsman doing the same thing, but thats a lill different than stock, Ill just have to find them and scan them. The craftsman had a actual axle from a golf cart, like a 9 inch just pointed up with a chain drive. Then It was a 5 speed gearbox off a massy, and a bigg ole 22 (?) hp off a pressure washer. now that was fun, but for some reason it like to eat gearboxes :-D

Greywolf 09-26-2006 09:32 PM

You figure it don't like getting slammed?

I wonder what a four wheeler driveline is like to transplant under a lawn trac...

The only concern I have is the front suspension and steering. Everything else says "GITTY UP!"

chrono4 09-26-2006 09:34 PM

Ive often wondered that one too, for a while I had a 250 ex engine and partial frame around, thought abut it, but at the time no access to my welder. It would be cool though, slap shifter and hand throttle. fast lawmowers, 4 wheelers, guns and alcohol, it all goes together

Greywolf 09-26-2006 09:35 PM

You gotta do what your dreams TELL YOU.

If you don't - you missed the chance....

1970Custom 09-27-2006 12:35 AM

I've always wanted to build a mower or a quad with a V6 in it, never did get around to it.

George Frasier 09-27-2006 07:22 PM

Will it walk the front steps ?

Wolf - NICE pics. Have you entered it into the lawn mower races ? There is such a thing.Oo. :-missingt Oo.

Greywolf 09-27-2006 08:01 PM

Oddly enough - there is ANOTHER mower I am building without a deck.

It is lighter, has a bigger engine (twin Briggs 18HP) and there is another one coming to me from Missippi on monday...

THAT ONE is going to flat git up and STOMP!

In fact - I'll be nabbing a tube bender from Harbor Freight down on Summer Ave so I can plumb the exhaust fer it with a wire-feed...:-D

1970Custom 09-27-2006 11:37 PM

I'm going to start making a tube chassis on Fri. and skin it with lawn mower skin.

Starting life with a 3hp Briggs motor and I'll move up from there
