Extended cab or crew cab Lightning?
I’m the original owner of a 1993 F-150 Lightning. I love this truck and would hate to have to get rid of it, but with a new addition to the family (there’s now 4 of us) it may have to go. What I really need is an extended cab or 4-door crew cab truck. Before I make the decision to sell, I’d like to research having this truck lengthened to accept a larger cab. I assume that a limo company may be able to do this, but since this truck is not a current production vehicle this may be difficult to find. Can anyone provide any advice or leads to find a conversion company to stretch my 1993 Lightning? I seem to recall seeing a stretched Lightning in an old (mid 90’s) Super Ford magazine, has anyone seen this done before?

A few 93-95 Lightnings were converted to extended cabs when they were new. I think the company was Full Effect and they were in California.

It would be cheaper and easier to buy an ext. or crew cab and do a GEN 1 conversion on one of those (paint, air dam, wheels, seats, etc...) I've seen one done in white and one in black and both conversions looked great!

I agree with Matt about looking for another vehicle. I think it would be sacrilegious to b@st@rdize your L.

Thanks ecarter, Full Effect was who I was thinking of. I actually bought my center jump seat from them when my daughter was born. Does anyone know how to contact them or if they are still in business?

Hey I have an 88 F150 extended cab as well as 2 daughters, one of which is getting a little cramped in the smaller bench seat in the back. I would REALLY hate to have to seperate with my truck but saftey for the girls comes 1st. I am looking for a crew cab truck now. Good luck with that my girls don't want to get rid of "our" truck either they expect to drive her when they turn 16!!

This post says Full Effect is out of business.

id say keep the lightning, and get a bronco, there is lots of room in the back seat for kids, toys...whatever, and you could turn it into a lightning if you wanted

I think...
For as much as it would cost to make the lightning an ext or crew i thing ud be better off selling it for a new saleen or roush ext cab truck
