Air bag warning light code B1884 "PAD warning light failure" cheap fix
I was getting a code that I had an inoperative PAD warning light. I took the Passenger Airbag Disable switch out of the dash and sure enough the bulb was out. Now I had no idea how much that assembly was at the dealer and wasn't about to find out, so I went to my local Rad!@shack and bought a little 5 volt incadesent light with wire leads and soldered it where the old bulb was. I removed the little yellow rubber from the old light and put it on the new light and tada! Code gone and light works for a whopping $1.49. Thought I'd share so hopefully if it happens to someone else they don't have to get bent at the dealer.

Nothing like saving 90 some bucks, is there? Good work. There is a 12V bulb that fits the bill, I forget the #, but if you do a search, it's here somewhere.

Yep.
SEARCH Keywords "LFC 27 Radio shack PAD" and my username.... Congrats on figuring it out on your own. Steve |
