1994 Ford Ranger Starting Problems
I have a 1994 Ford Ranger 2-wheel drive 4 cylinder standard 5-speed. I've had intermittent starting problems. I have just changed out the starter (Sat), and it's still doing it. In fact it was worse tonight, it never started back up without a push. It attempts to start for about a second, then the power cuts out like the battery has gone dead and all the gages go back to zero. Tonight I noticed my clock reset back to 12:00 like as if I disconnected the battery. My starter has the cylinoid(sp) attached to it. I'm lost have no idea what the problem could be, any advice would be appreciated.

Run this ride by your favorite autoparts store for a electrical system check up via their portable system tester. It'll likely sniff out the problem.
The clock thing, makes me suspect a battery, battery cable, contact, or ground problem. |
