T-Tops on a 76 mustang 2, What do you think?

Whats goin on guys, ok so i have this 76 mustang 2 ghia back home, some day ill go up and get it. BUT untill then im still runnin ideas thru my head of what i want to do to it. the other day i had to drive a camero (ick) for work, but i did enjoy the t- tops on the thing. i thought it was nice on beautiful day to drop the tops and cruise, well my idea now is maybe installing t tops on the ol stang to spruse it up a lil, and i would like to ask you all your oppinion, think it would work/look allright?

I think there was a factory t-tops installed in some of those cars. My brother had a 78' Mustang 2. Cute little car and ran well but was very limited on upgrades. He put it on its top on a twisty road :) T-tops are bad to leak with body flex. You may wanna think sunroof.

I can't remember if they are full frame cars but I don't think so. If they aren't you may wanna add sub-frame connectors to reduce body flex to help prevent leaks.

Don't know about the T-tops, but I did see you in Miami today. Just couldn't get to the stoplight in time to wave. I'll try harder next time.

t-tops=bad

I had an 84 20th anniversary 'stang with t-top. I liked it alot, but it did leak like the proverbial siv. I would think of a sun roof if you want the open top.

The mustang never had a full frame, all of them are unitized, the 74-78 were basically a Pinto with different sheet metal. To take a hard top and make it a t-top just isn't a good thing, no matter the model, you would be better served to go with a sunroof, there are removable units if you want the open sky. I love my t-tops on my Trans Am, but they do leak sometimes, the last T/A I had the t-bar was all rusted up and any time I turned a corner, it would drain out on me... but structurally, to add a t-bar just would not be good.
