:'( '94 F150 5.0 runs rough after tune-up

Just bought a really sweet '94 F150 XLT 2wd LWB EAOD pickup with 92K on the clock. It's loaded with everything you could get and the cool two-tone cream/copper paint ala Eddie Bauer. It has never had a tune-up, so I commenced on it yesterday morning. Installed new Autolite plugs, PCV valve, air filter, Accel Super Stock Spiral Wound 8mm wires, distributor cap and rotor. Since completing this work, the truck doesn't run for spit. It has a very bad idle, and almost quits under load. Is there a problem with the wires and the electronic ignition?

Also, I picked up a fuel filter and breather filter as well, but for the life of me I can't find where the breather filter is located. It appears the PCV system gets it's air for the intake air which has already passed through the air filter. Does this model even require a breaher filter? I'm thinking it does not.

Thanks for the advice!

I'm not sure about the stuttering, but there is a breather filter. Try checking your airbox. Open it up and look under your air filter.

I have removed the air filter and there isn't a breather filter there.

LAST EDITED ON 30-Apr-01 AT 06:19 PM (EST)[p]Gee, you'd think that the new edition of the Haynes manual would have the correct firing order in it, wouldn't ya?

I know, I know. I should have compared/labeled/replaced one at a time to make sure the firing order was right. A frustrating lesson learned.

BTW, the Haynes manual indicates one firing order for 95 and later and another for 94 and earlier. Mine is a 94 and uses the one labeled for 95 and later. I signed up for a subscription to www.alldatadiy.com and downloaded the TSB for correct wire routing to avoid cross-fire on the 302.
