2016 TRUCKSTOCK

I know this is a little early , But Truckstock 2015 just got over and already the 10 two bedroom cabins in the Landside area have been booked . Also at least one of the down hill cabins has been taken , Harlysmnm did a great job and picked a very good location . It was decided to hold our 2016 event back at FALL CREEK FALLS State Park . I will be taking over for Joe and hope to do as well . Anyone thinking of attending should know the ground rules . We don't talk politics , Religion , or Chevy . We bring our wives , children and grandchildren , So this is not a weekend of drinking . If you can't speed a weekend without getting drunk , stay home . Now a beer or glass of wine while we sit around and solve all of our trucks problems , is not a problem . But again this is not a drinking weekend . We also do not judge each others trucks . Some are show , some restored , some daily drivers . We try to take a short cruise , it is up to you if you want to go . Some of us have family come and make this a family weekend , with Truckstock just part of it . We also like to keep this for the 48-56 ford truck bunch , so we have something in common . Contact me if you have any questions .

raytasch 09-21-2015 07:21 PM

Thanks for stepping up and taking on the event, Dave. I do have a cabin reserved. Post the dates so those interested can mark their calendar.

We're they booked by truckstockers? If so, I would be interested in sharing one if someone is willing.

I wouldn't judge, I would just drool over all of them.
Dave, that sounds like a perfect weekend to me. I'm afraid TS2016 will coincide with my daughters cross country meet again, but we will see.
I would love to get my truck road worthy and spend a few days driving it there. Just a nice leisurely cross country drive and a weekend with truck buddies is what I need.

JPMallory 09-22-2015 05:17 AM

while we sit around and solve all of our trucks problems
Yeah, we are going to need more than a weekend for mine. :)

Seriously though, I'm interested in attending 2016. I would have liked to have gone this year, but there were too many things I needed to get done before I took the truck on that long of a drive. It will be ready by next year. I'll see to that.

We reserved a cabin. You guys are welcome to stay with us. We didn't get to spend nearly enough time with y'all this year anyway!

In-laws live in Lebanon, one time while visiting them I drove over to Fall Creek Falls to play golf. That is one beautiful part of the country! I would love to get back that way again...

Road trip:-X22 in an old truck.

DR Smith 09-24-2015 09:34 AM

For all of you that think you have to much work to get your truck ready for next year , if you only work on your truck for 2 hours a week , you will have 100 hours in by next Truckstock , Think what you can get done in a 100 hours , Then if you could get a extra 6 hours a month , 72 hours = 172 hours . You get the picture .

what state are we talking about? You are right about the 2 hours per week. I am registered for the 2016 Western Nats and it is amazing what I have gotten done on my "finished" truck

Skalywag 09-29-2015 07:59 PM

Is there any area to park a motor home? I may try to tow my 50' behind my motor home next year.

There is a huge campground in the park.

Tennessee, thank you. There is some talk here about caravaning out to the Super Nats with some guys from PUL

EffieTrucker 10-20-2015 11:53 AM

I will take care of tee shirts for Truckstock 2016, if everyone is okay with that.

If so, would you like input, or let me do the design?

This would be a not-for-profit venture on my part.

You should contact Dave (D R Smith) about that.

harleymsn 10-20-2015 01:44 PM

This acted as a reminder to me to check up on the park. Dave previously posted all 10 of the 'Landside' cabins and at least one 'Fishermans' 2 bedroom cabin are taken by TS16 folks. As of today there are 7 Fisherman's Cabins and 2 of the 'Lakeside Villas' (3 bedroom) still available.
Dave had also blocked 10 rooms at the Inn and rooms there are filling pretty fast for the weekend.

If you think there is a chance that you will be attending, I'd advise everyone to call soon and make a reservation, you can always cancel later if you need to.

DR Smith 10-20-2015 04:39 PM

Effie , Bob has been very helpful in doing art work for truckstocks . I would be happy if you contacted Bob and worked something out , It is nice to have new faces willing to work to keep this great get together going . Any thing you need from me just ask ,

Mervy49 10-21-2015 02:51 AM

I sure want to drive my truck down there some day.

I'll second that!!
Truckstock needs a beat up old truck there to offset all those simply gorgeous trucks.

That's great! Hope to see a bunch of new faces next year. That park is a really nice place.

harleymsn 12-17-2015 03:56 PM

Just thought I would 'Bump' this back, for those that may have missed it.

DR Smith 12-18-2015 02:53 PM

Just over 9 months to go , Get working on your trucks . I would like to see my old friends and meet some new ones . This is like a family reunion , and I look forward to it each year . Anyone thinking of doing one in another part of the country ? 9/15/2016.

harleymsn 12-19-2015 01:33 AM

As an update, I just checked the park reservation system, all of the cabins in the 'Landside' area are booked, however there are 5 'Fishermans' cabins and 2 'Villas' still available. The Inn is full on Sunday night, but there are plenty of rooms still available through Sunday morning.

We are kicking around an idea and stop in. Would be bringing my 56F250 ''earl'' and drive down to Florida and my Dad driving his 56f100. I am just worried about the heat . We drove down and back this year and it really took alot of patience.
Will decide during Christmas and talk it over with him and then will call Dave.

We hope to see you there!!! Would love to see Earl and your dad's truck. Keep in mind this happens in September. The heat isn't nearly as much as an issue as compared to the middle of the summer.

We are going to try to make it to meet all you fine folks and give my 53 F-100 a good run up there.

I'd suggest you contact the park and make a reservation, you can always cancel it if plans change.

JPMallory 02-28-2016 05:13 PM

I'm afraid I won't making it to Truckstock after all. I just called and canceled my room. I'm a little bummed, I was really looking forward to meeting you guys.

On the bright side, my wife and I will be welcoming our first child a couple months before Truckstock. So I've got that going for me, which is nice. :)

Trust me, your first child is a much more important event. Congratulations!

We won't be making it this year either. My oldest son is getting married a week before. Looks like our money has somewhere else to go.

DR Smith 02-28-2016 11:03 PM

sorry to hear , you guys won't be coming . maybe next year .

Doc 02-29-2016 06:34 AM

Hate to hear you're not gonna make it. I truly believe that is easily the most beautiful state park in this entire region of the country. The bike/walking trail from the lodge to the falls is very nice. The lake is very pretty also.
