53-56 Smooth front inner fenders
 

I have a Volare front end and the inner fenders were hacked up for the upper A arms, and I've really been thinking about some after market smooth/custom inners, does anyone make them, I would think some nice fiberglass ones would be cool, has anyone fabricated their own? Pic of an install would be appreciated.

I made these to fit my flat firewall and Aspen front clip. This is the only picture I have.
Mid-Fifties offer a line of inner fender panels that fit the stock firewall.

Thanx for the like. It is Dodges version of the Volare, it is the same just different part #'s, mine is a 1976 Dodge Aspen.

Here is a pic of my truck with the stainless steel inner fenders. If you have any mods at all to make to the stainless panels then pack a lunch...not the easiest task to get right. There is absolutely no benefit to fiberglass inner fenders...probably a good rationale as to why no one sells them.

When you smooth the firewall as shown above, how do you determine how to align the inner fender brackets back up on it?

Measure the placement from the original firewall (if you look at my pic closely you will see the Sharpie lines I drew to mark the bracket location on each side)...that is with one exception, I don't place the mounting brackets ABOVE the inner fender panel, I place them below where they are not seen. I use a section of 2 inch angle and drill the holes once I have the inner fender in place. You can thread the hole, use a loose nut (not the best idea), weld a nut in place, or use a rivet nut which is my preference.
