Misfire Cylinder 1 7.5l P0301
 
Check engine light came on recently with code P0301. "Cylinder one misfire" I switched wires with adjacent plug (and at distributor cap) reset code, and same code popped up next day. Replaced cap, rotor and #1 spark plug and reset code: same code popped up. Did a compression test on #1 cylinder: 120 lbs which held constant for 10 minutes. (new spark plug doesn't even look like its' seen one explosion in the cylinder - white porcelain and shiny metal after the 40 mile test drive to work and back).
Could it be the injector? ( it ohmed out at 5.7)

Are your plug wires routed correctly and not crossing all over each other? There is actually a recommended routing for them... I've always just run them nice and neat and never had a problem.

I do remember one time I had old plug wires that were failing and causing a misfire under load, but otherwise ran fine at idle and cruise. How old are your wires?

My wires are about 3 months old and higher quality than the budget set. I do however need to clean up the routing with some guides though. I'll try that.

The injector should be between 11-18 ohms, so replace the injector

Update: P0301 Misfire Code FIXED!
 
Thanks to all of the FTE Community help on this one. Replaced the injectors and misfire went away, now she's running smooth, climbing grades AND getting better fuel economy. Best part; bought the injectors for $100 rebuilt on EBay.
