want more low end torque out of stock 5.8

I'm looking for ideas to get some for low end out of my stock 93 F150 with 5.8, I own a 25ft travel trailer that it does haul OK but i'd like to get a little more pull out of it. Just looking for some basic ideas where to start I appreciate anyone's advice.

Longtube headers with a single 2.5" exhaust and 1.7 roller rockers.

If you have 3.55 gears in the axles you could always regear to 3.73 or 4.10 gears.

I thought about gears but I did still want to keep my highway speed 3.73's mite be ok. I was thinking upgrade the stock ignition is pretty simple any suggestions on that?

Throw in a timing set that allows you to advance the cam timing.

How much will that add?

that will move your pwoer band up or down. Littel trick the mustang guys use in the stock classes. Advancing it 4 degrees should bring your peak torque lower in the rpm range.

There isn't any free lunch. What adds on the bottom end will take away on the top end.

Anytime you modify the engine from stock you'll be making a compromise in fuel economy, performance, reliability or ??? I'm not saying don't do it but many times you'll not get the expected/advertised performance gains.

Changing the rear gear is one way to gain more low speed oomph at a cost of some fuel economy. Only you can determine of the benefit outweighs the cost. I may go the other way… installing a higher gear ratio to replace the 4.10's in my F350 in an effort to increase the MPG. A 460 is thirsty regardless but a couple MPG over the long haul may help.

Will I ever repay the $$$ I spent changing gears? Probably not… but I don't have to rely on my truck as a daily driver.

ya my truck isn't a daily driver it's a take out for weekend cruise or haul the trailer to the campground 4 or 5 times a year. I like the idea of having a little more getup in the low end I like to feel it pull if I want to step on it when i'm out for a little sunday drive.

What size tires are on the truck? If they are any bigger than stock then you really should put gears in it... or put stick sized tires back on.

just stock tires not sure right off what size.
