5.4L 3v Camshaft Phaser Knock Noise Fix
 

In this video I go over in detail the procedure to swap out the Cam Phaser to get rid of that annoying knocking noise at idle! It is easier than you think. The procedure is the same for all 4.6l and 5.4l 3valve engines.

Will the cam phasers cause the truck to run so rough that it loses power and dies? my truck started out with it sounding just like a powerstroke. check engine light came on for position sensors replaced both of them. ran great on the test drive, then when i started it back up it was running rough again. alot worse than before. i replaced all the spark plugs and put a new battery in there for good measure. still running rough. reason i changed to spark plugs because when i looked up the codes it said the code could pop up again cause of bad spark plugs. i have the money now to change out the phaser but just want to be sure that it is it. any other ideas what it might be or is it the phasers?
