What's up with this turbo mount?
My turbo has only 2- 10mm bolts and 1 17mm front drive side, also a 2 piece pedestal. The turbo bolt kit comes with 3 -10mm but that is way short for the one where the 17mm is, it's like 1" longer to go through where the 2 piece pedestals over lap, than into housing. The turbo was replaced in 07 under warranty, possible upgrade :confused:

I can tell you there are 2 STUDS coming up out of the valley of engine for the smaller of the 2 pieces, which even seems more like an oem pedestal. Total of 6 fasteners
I will get a pic when I remove for oil cooler replacement. I just swapped out failed egr cooler to flush system so I wouldn't clog new OC. |
Heres a pic of front lower driver side of 17mm bolt. behind shoulder of bolt is the small piece of pedestal that goes down to valley on 2 studs near hpop, the one behind that goes over to passenger side of turbo for the other 10mm bolt.

Here's a pic looking straight down, you can see 2 studs near hpop. It's like an additional support bracket/pedestal
