In one piece, sort of...

To make room in my shop, I had to consolidate all the truck body parts that were lying around. This is the first time that this old truck has actually looked anything like a vehicle in many years. While it doesn't look like much here, having it (sort of) back together at all seems like a minor triumph for me, so I decided to post a photo. I am hopeful that late next spring I finally paint the whole thing. Body work included a lot of hammering out of dings and dents, patching both rear fenders, rear cab corners, both front lower cowl sections, inner fenders, bed post pockets, floor sections and replacing a rusted section of the roof with a solid piece from a donor cab. The front fenders are poorly made reproductions which will require work to fit and look decently. The engine has been ready to go for years, and waits patiently to be re-installed. All body pieces are coated with either a light spray of rattle-can primer (which I will remove prior to epoxy priming) or PickleX 20 metal prep, so it's not a rusty mess when I return to work on it again come warm weather. I am still getting the whole hood/hinge thing worked out following Ax's step by step front end assembly instructions. So far, so good. I may end up with one of the few trucks like this that won't require me to go to each rear hood corner and press it into a fully closed position...
