Y block t5
Hello every y-block owners, my name is Anders live in Sweden and need some help from you over there. I have a f-100 1956 with a 292 and t5 5 speed.
I need a new pressure plate and throw out bearing or a clutch kit in the yblock. I wonder if you can tell from what car i can use och a part number from ex (summit). I have stock clutch arm. I hope you want to help Anders |
A Y block with a T5? If I'm wrong or right, a T5 sounds like a modern 5sp overdrive
aluminum case? So It sounds like someone has been in there, like an adaptor bell housing- possiblity. Most 56's suppose to be 272s? Myself I run a machine & fab works shop, and to me, If I machined an adaptor, we would use the Y block flywheel and pressure plate and throw out bearing. The only diference is the clutch disk "will be the pressure plate diameter but with the hub splines for a T5. Seems or I think a small S10 V6 had a T5, and if so you will need that disk which may or may a little smaller, but will work. Just wondering, dont you have the parts that came out?? If so, "Google is a great invention". The only thing is, when Y block is mentioned, I think of 3 or 4 speed Warner or 2 speed automatic, thats what they came with, here atleast. And F700 & up are a whole different ballgame. All I can say without pics or more info. sam tryin ta help |
Anders, your clutch disc is most likely the Chevy S-10 disc. Check with Speedway or Summit, look at what they supply with their kits for adapting the T5 to flatheads. I know some people use this one: 9-1/8" 14 spline/1-inch shaft for a 86 s-10 5 speed.
PS -- I assumed your T5 is from an S-10; if it is from a Mustang, then obviously you'd like need a disc for a Mustang. |
Nice with a nother Swede here. Was it you who bought the second speedometer (km/h) scale from me? I have a bad memory for names.

Hi
Sorry for the late answere and yes I have one of the first prototypes left, the only thing that I wasn´t satisfied with was the size of the 100 120 140, that I hade made a little skinnier to make a littlebit more room, but on my final design i went with slightley thicker font for the 100 120 140 numbers This picture is the one I have left If you would like: http://i1113.photobucket.com/albums/...psdc86c9f6.jpg As you can see, the 100 120 140 are slightley thinner than the rest. This is how the one last one looked like: http://i1113.photobucket.com/albums/...9/DSC_0306.jpg If you want it, its 500 SEK + shippment, I can take paypal. Let me know what you think. You can find the complete work on my plogg link in my signature. |
