2007 Expedition Shudder issue
Hello. I have a 2007 Ford Expedition with 72,000 miles. Over the past couple of months, we have been experiencing some sort of Shudder issue. Every once in a while, when we accelerate, the truck will shudder like the transmission is slipping or the engine is missing. It only happens once in a while. I took it to a transmission shop and of course they couldn't replicate the issue after two test drives. They put it up on the rack and said everything looked fine and that there weren't any leaks and the transmission fluid was full. They were stumped and didn't know what to do since they couldn't replicate the problem. Has anyone had this problem? If so, what was the issue? Thanks for your help!

It sounds like a coil is going out. Pretty common.

Is that expensive to fix? Thanks for your help!

Should be under $100 and less than 20 mins to replace. The hard part is figuring out which 1 of the 8 is the problem. A mechanic with a good scanner should be able to tell which one is at fault.

shutter issue
having the same problem you described, did you find it was a coil issue, or a torque converter going out?

Search on spark plugs causing the issue. You'll also want to change your spark plugs soon, better to do than wait to 100K miles when they're really stuck and might break. I did mine recently and it drives better, I got the updated factory plugs off eBay for a great price.
