rear leaf springs

I have I believe the original springs and am looking to replace them. I want to know how much it will drop the back end with 3" drop leaf springs. I want to know if someone has newer rear springs on thiers and can give me a measurement to see how high stock is. Like a measurement from the rear fender to the floor. My truck could drop about 1" or 1 1/2" and still look ok. But if I have only lost 1/2" from original height I my have to figure something else out . Thanks

Are you looking to replace your rear springs because you have broken leaves or because you want to lower the rear? If the reason is the latter, you can first reverse the eyes on the main leaf and then remove up to 3 or 4 leaves depending on how you want to use the truck. Reversing the eyes is a simple matter of reshaping/reversing the the camber in the main leaf. That is most easily done on a press.

As I looked over the leafs they all have a groove that is now like a spot and the leafs can only move so far.

It sounds like lots of miles/rough roads with resulting wear. If there is any significant depth to the wear, I would opt for new or a better set of used springs.

That's what I was thinking.... I just need to see how much my truck is lower then what stock springs would be. I can gte new ones that have 3" drop. The front is lower and I still want some rake in it so I good some measurements

I can't find my original measurements but a couple of us have bought new springs from Posie's in Hummelstown, PA. They make them in their spring shop outside of town. I put Dual Flex in the front and SuperSliders in the rear. This gave me a little less than a 3" drop on my F-2. Ignore the rear in the picture as I have P235x70R16 in the rear vs P215x60R16 in the front. I'm looking to replace the rear tires so it will bring it down closer to the front.

It is hard to tell how much of a drop you will get, because we do not know how much your stock springs have sagged with age. Do a search for rear drops and you will find plenty of options out there. For a budget, with mild fabrication skills the axle over springs is the cheapest, but I would not recommend if you plan on pulling any weight.
