EGR code p1335
hey guys my truck just threw P1335 and p0404. I pulled the EGR valve to check it and it is dry and sooty not sticky. I noticed a chunk missing from the o ring. Would this be a possible reason for throwing the code?
Its a new o ring as i cleaned the valve about 2000 miles ago and the valve was still relatively clean. The cel came on when I was driving, truck would only idle when accelerating after about 5 seconds of this all the sudden it would kick blow a puff of white smoke and then act normal, its done this about 3 times now since the light came on. thanks |
Yes replace the Oring and Lube the new orings with clean moter oil before install
If orings not sealing exhaust gas is Freely flowing in the Intake manafold and not being regulated change Oring clear codes should be ok |
Thanks Benny, thats what i figured. I was goin to replace it no matter what I just wanted to make sure it wasnt a bigger problem.
Will any o ring work or should I just get the Ford kit and install a new gasket too? Dealership is closed till Monday |

Dealership is closed till Monday They do have Oring kits with all sizes in it But you will want one that can withstand high exhaust temps. Everytime I get an assortment of orings trying to find specific size there all close but none work. IMO if you can get the specific Orings pulled upin there computer then you should be good to go If not doubt the assortment kit will work for you |
ok ill give oreily's a shot. Thanks again

Those are EGR valve position codes, not flow codes. Sounds like it's an internal problem with the valve. If they keep coming back you're going to have to spring for an EGR valve.
