Thanks. Nope, no tunes.... just a flowmaster muffler and K&N filter. Got a little over 215k on her now.

Have you ever had any problems with the K&N? I have a kit sitting in my basement because it was messing up my mass air sensor and giving my truck faulty readings, the oil from the filter was that is. I cleaned it once or twice and never really put excessive oil on it that I know of. Does it really help with throttle response, power and fuel mileage like they say it does?

2001 F250 with 89,000 miles. It has had 4000 mile oil changes since new and the only maintenance to date has been a IAC replacement and 1 coil replaced. Sounds and runs like new.

No problems with the K&N. After I put it in, the truck did seem a little quicker.... but after about 2-3 days I kinda got used to it and didn't really notice it anymore. Mileage didn't change... if anything it went down due to my right foot }>

just rolled past 66,000 miles today. still slow, still will never see me pass a gas station, but still gets me around on 87 octane and $40 oil changes. have ball joints to do this weekend and a few other little things to take care of and hopefully be good for a while :-X06

odometer went out about 4 or 5 years ago on my 97 150 4x4 4.6 at 166,000. Suppose it would have well over 200,00 now. Just minor stuff like plugs, water pump, most stuff you would expect to replace at that mileage. Other than that no problems...

2001 F-150 5.4 2v 109,300 miles...

375000 and counting. Hoping for 400k, we'll see.
Castrol 5w20 must be good oil after all.

Half Million Plus on Original Motor

522,136 miles on a 1998 F-250 Light Duty Lariat Extended Cab 4.6, purchased new in March of 1998.
The little 281 motor pushes around 3 & 1/2 tons and still runs strong like new, with NO mechanical repairs to engine to date.
Still has original timing chains. Still sounds showroom.
My favorite truck, so far.

189K on my '98 expedition with the 5.4L 2v motor. No engine or trans problems, but I'm OCD about regular maintenance. I would HIGHLY recommend getting one with the heavy tow package. It adds the extra trans cooler and an engine oil cooler, which I think adds to the longevity of the drive-train.

My 2005 4.6L F-150 STX 4X4 turned 94,000mi today.

Interesting that this thread is still around! Begun in March and while I still have the E250 there is another that's taking its place. The one here now has 272K miles and will soon be on the market. It will make a great truck for someone who will somewhat baby it even though there are no signs its ill. Plugs could be changed but that'll be on the new owner but I'll give them a new set of Motorcraft SP479's.

Taking its place is an '03 E250 extended body with PW, PDL, A/C and that infernal KRE do-dad---do NOT like it. Since May I've added a carpeted plywood floor, insulation, FRP paneling, shelving and storage bins along with two Snap On end cabs. A cabinet made by me is tucked into a corner just behind the rear side barn door which is mostly a prototype of another I'm thinking of making next spring.

A high BTU/CFM heater with factory front controls and valves gives me a lot of control, adding a rear sliding curtain just behind the front seats gives me a lot of heat during the cold months. That curtain also raises the A/C's efficiency since it now will cool a much smaller area. A remote alarm and high-tech LED interior lighting completes most of the refitting I need to make this a nice work van.

The van had 165K miles on it, changed plugs and put about another 1K on it, taking me to today. A few more changes/improvements are contemplated but they won't be started until next summer---hate working in the cold! :)

Hi,
F250 LD, 1997, 4.6L.
Regular maintenance.
-changed the LH Cylinder head by 100k (Pin Hole)
-now there is a new Pin Hole on the RH Cylinder head by 120K.
No heavy load or extreme temperatures. Never overheated (got the towing package with external Engine oil cooler and Transmission cooler as well)

Really like the Truck, but I think it's time to try something else.
I don't trust the Trucks from 2004 up, so there aren't many opportunities left. I definitely will not buy a Modular Engine Truck again.
I can’t imagine that Ford is selling so many of this engines.

I'm still not 100% through with Ford, but very close.
