305/65/18 bfg at
 

Does anyone know if i can fit a 305/65/18 bfg all terrain on my stock 18/ 8.5 wheels or is it going to be to wide? The stock size was 255/70/18, so is it going to look odd with the smaller side wall? havnt been able to find a pic of an 07+ expy with bfg ats.

Tire Rack specs for that size says 9" rim, my guess is you won't notice the difference with an 8.5.

The tire store you buy from should let you look at one mounted up before you complete the installation.

the 305/65/18 you are asking about has more sidewall than your OEM tires. it is a 33.5" tall tire. Your factory tires are a 32" tire

I'm running a 275/60/20 (33") on my 4x2 Expy right now with ZERO rubbing issues. But that is because I only went up in height, but kept same width.

Your new tires will be 2" wider than the OEM tires. Your best bet is to turn the wheel all the way to the stop 1 way. Get your head in there and measure all the gaps you have. Shorten that gap by 1" to account for new tire.

Be sure to also look for clearance while tire is compressed and turned. Your new tires are only 1" wider than the tires I'm rocking right now. So you only have to clear another 1/2" from components than I currently do. I'm fairly certain you'll be fine. Especially if you are a 4x4 (sits 1" taller).




aren't the 17" and 18" rims only a 7.5" width? I know they are on the F-150. Makes sense if the Expy were as well since they are basically the exact same vehicle. 20's are 8.5" wide due to narrower sidewalls
